Make it easier for users when sharing links to your site

URL links to your website don’t look good when posting on social media. The full address of this post would look like: philchoi.co/get-short-url-links-with-wordpress

A WordPress shortlink to the same post looks like this: wp.me/p3GXzq-pz

Most would agree that the shortlink is more user friendly and less distracting. If you are not using WordPress, you can visit sites such as tinyurl.com to do something similar.

WordPress users should have the Jetpack plugin installed. This will automatically add the ‘Get Shortlink’ button under the title of the post or page, although it will only be visible after you have saved a draft or published the page. Just click the button to get the shortlink for sharing on twitter, emailing or blogging.
